Features

With Diamond DSP you can:
  • support a network of mixed C6000 types with a multi-processor, multi-threading microkernel with pre-emptive, priority-based real-time scheduling. Context switches on a 1GHz CPU are around 100ns.
  • significantly reduce your development time. Diamond is ideal for rapid prototyping and allows you to find the optimal system load distribution.
  • seamlessly integrate with Diamond FPGA which allows you to include FPGA tasks in your design.
  • have access to optimized, fast interprocessor links using EDMA. Diamond takes care of cache coherency and other household tasks.
  • provides an off-the-shelf solution to loading, communication, and synchronisation issues typical of a multiprocessor system;
  • provides built-in drivers for transparent, deadlock-free communication between processors.
  • supports bulk data transfers between the host and DSP system occur over high-speed inter-processor links. leaving the slow JTAG chain free for debugging;
  • remain hardware independent. You can change the underlying hardware modules with no code changes. This ensures that you have a clear migration path to update the hardware if required.
  • build applications for any of the Sundance modules without having to worry about things like memory management unless you wish to. This is all taken care of for you by Diamond DSP.
  • create DSP tasks with the standard TI compiler and linker from Code Composer Studio, to which Diamond adds a comprehensive framework for multi-processor software development.
  • debug your application using JTAG. Diamond generates the required source symbol files.
  • create a single application file that contains everything needed to load all processors in your system automatically. Simply double-clicking the application file will load the DSPs and reconfigure the FPGAs to get your system running.
  • provides access to host services and standard C I/O though its host GUI.
