FMC-RSxxx-8

This LPC FMC card has eight channels, RS-xxx interfaces. The Channels are factory-defined/built when ordering the board.
Possible combinations/interfaces are RS232, RS422/RS485 Half Duplex, and RS422/RS485 Full Duplex.

Please use the format shown in the Order Information tab when placing an order!

The module can also be used as a PMOD interface. Please see the 4 block diagrams for potential combinations.

There is a breakout board and cable assembly that allows the ports to be accessed via DB9 connector.

Features

  1. RS422 or RS485 or RS232 input interfaces – orderable option, separate for each channel;
  2. All output interfaces are ESD protected, ESD protection built-in IC;
  3. THE main IC is SP339EER1-L;
  4. Total eight channels of RSxxx interfaces routed to Samtec right angle ERF8-020-01-L-D-RA-L-TR connector;
  5. Can order breakout board and cable assembly for easy access to channels via DB9 connectors.
  6. Supported VADJ levels 1.2V – 3.3V;
  7. VADJ and 3.3V required from FMC carrier;
  8. Power consumption: at 3.3V <= 20 mA, outputs not loaded, at VADJ <= 10 mA, signals not switching;
  9. Level translators for FMC usage, when PMOD used it not populated;
  10. Build option FMC connector or 8 6 pins PMOD male connectors with TTL signals;
  11. 3.3V or 5V supply and logic levels are supported when used in PMOD

FMC-RSXXX-8 Ordering format:

The module has 8 distinct RS communications channels. Any of the 8 can be one of the following:

W-PMOD

X– RS232

Y-RS422/RS485 Half-Duplex

Z-RS422/Rs485 Full-Duplex

To specify which channel number will be assigned with RS communications interface please use the following format:

FMC-RS-ABCDEFGH

A-channel 1, B-channel 2, C-channel 3, D-channel 4, E-channel 5, F-channel 6, G-channel 7, H-channel 8

An example order would be the following:

FMC-RS-X-X-Y-Y-Y-Z-X-Z

In the above example,

channel 1 would be RS232

channel 2 would be RS232

channel 3 would be RS422/RS485 Half-Duplex

channel 4 would be RS422/RS485 Half-Duplex

channel 5 would be RS422/RS485 Half-Duplex

channel 6 would be RS422/Rs485 Full-Duplex

channel 7 would be RS232

channel 8 would be RS422/Rs485 Full-Duplex
