CME720, ComExpress FPGA board with FMC+, based on AMD Kintex Ultrascale

The CME720 is a high-performance Kintex UltraScale-based FPGA board, designed in a ComExpress Type 6 Basic form factor. It offers extensive connectivity, robust processing power, and a versatile expansion capability, making it ideal for demanding applications across various industries.

Equipped with an AMD Xilinx XCKU060-1FFVA1517 FPGA, with options for XCKU085-1FLVA1517 and XCKU115-1FLVA1517, this ComExpress board delivers scalable computational resources. High-speed data transfer is facilitated through PCIe x8 Gen 3.0, SATA, USB 3.0, and serial interfaces, including UART, SPI, and I2C, all accessible through ComExpress connectors. Precision clock management is ensured by SkyWorks clock generator ICs, optimizing fabric clocks and transceivers.

Its HPC FMC+ (VITA 57.4) expansion provides 24 XCVRs, 34 LA pairs, 24 HA pairs, and 22 HB pairs, supporting flexible interfacing for diverse applications. Adjustable Vadj levels (0.9V–1.8V), DDR4 SDRAM (2.5GB with ECC or 72-bit wide configuration), 1GB QSPI flash with multi-boot capability, and 50A core power support bolster memory and processing reliability.

Programming and debugging are streamlined via an embedded USB-JTAG/UART accessible through a right-angle USB-C connector, utilizing an FT4232 IC. User interactivity is enhanced with LED indicators (8 user LEDs, 3 power good LEDs) and a dip switch for FPGA resets, configurable through FTDI, onboard jumper, or COMe connectors.
