FMC-RPi Vita 57.1 FMC

The FMC-RPi is a HPC FMC with Raspberry Pi 40-pin male header and  8 12-pin PMOD headers. The module uses controlled GPIO voltage level translators (TXS0108 datasheet) to be compatible with the Vita 57.1 standard. The board is compatible with LPC FMC carriers with reduced functionality.

The FMC-RPi is designed for facilitating the development of FPGA applications using vast amounts of off the shelf available RPi hats and PMOD peripherals.

 Features

  1. HPC FMC module EEPROM for FMC;
  2. FMC will be as Master RPi and PMOD;
  3. 74LVC2T45 – as controllable level shifters for RPi and for 2 PMODs. 1 DIR signal per 2 GPIO;
  4. TXS0108 – level shifter for 6 PMODs on HA Lanes*;
  5. Power supply 5V – 0.1A, 3.3 – 1A for Raspberry Header;
  6. Shunt resistor for the 5V supply so the user can disconnect the 5V supply from the RPi header
  7. Power supply 3.3V – 3A for All PMODs;
  8. Supported VADJ levels 1.2V(1.4V**) – 3.3V;

*Not supported when connected to a FMC LPC carrier

**TXS0108 – requires at least 1.4V for operating, if design use PMODs on HA VADJ must be higher than 1.4V. Also note maximum throughput vs. VADJ voltage

The module has some limitations:

1. TXS0108 level translator has limited drive capability, Output impedance is 4k Ohm for static load, total pull down impedance on lines must be higher than 20 kOm, See TXS0108 datasheet

2. 74LVC2T45 – has 1 DIR pin for 2 GPIOs, care must be taken before using peripherals.

3. The module is compatible with LPC FMC carriers, but the HA lane connected PMOD connectors are only available on HPC FMC carriers
